About TDEE Calculator
How It Works
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is calculated by multiplying your BMR by an activity multiplier. Sedentary (1.2), Lightly Active (1.375), Moderately Active (1.55), Very Active (1.725), or Extra Active (1.9). This reflects all calories burned daily.
How to Interpret Results
Your TDEE represents the total calories you burn in a day. Eating at this level maintains your current weight. Eating below creates a deficit for weight loss, above creates a surplus for weight gain.
Health Tips
Use your TDEE as a starting point and adjust based on actual results. Track your weight weekly and adjust calories by 100-200 if needed. TDEE changes as your weight and activity levels change.
Limitations
Activity multipliers are estimates and may not reflect your true energy expenditure. Individual metabolism varies by up to 20% from population averages. Fitness trackers can provide more personalized estimates.
