About eGFR Calculator
How It Works
eGFR (estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate) estimates how well your kidneys are filtering waste from your blood. It uses the CKD-EPI equation, which incorporates your serum creatinine level, age, gender, and race. A higher eGFR indicates better kidney function.
How to Interpret Results
Normal eGFR is 90 mL/min/1.73m² or higher. Values between 60-89 may indicate mild kidney damage, 30-59 indicates moderate reduction, 15-29 indicates severe reduction, and below 15 indicates kidney failure. Early detection of reduced eGFR allows for interventions to slow disease progression.

To maintain healthy kidneys: stay hydrated, manage blood pressure and blood sugar, eat a balanced diet low in sodium, avoid excessive NSAID use, limit alcohol, don't smoke, and get regular checkups especially if you have diabetes or hypertension.
