About Waist-to-Height Ratio Calculator
How It Works
Waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) is calculated by dividing your waist circumference by your height. A ratio below 0.5 is considered healthy, indicating your waist circumference is less than half your height.
How to Interpret Results
WHtR is a strong predictor of cardiovascular risk and metabolic health. A ratio of 0.5 or higher suggests increased risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and stroke. It is often considered more accurate than BMI.
Health Tips
Reducing waist circumference through diet and exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve metabolic health. Even a 1-2 inch reduction can lower health risks significantly.
Limitations
WHtR does not directly measure visceral fat. Results may vary by ethnicity and body shape. It is most reliable when used alongside other health metrics for a complete assessment.
